Job Description:
Renovation of the existing watch tower building at 25 Columbia Heights, which total’s 700,000 SQFT spread over (5) separate buildings. H&L’s scope involved the installation of 300 tons of structural steel and a large miscellaneous package which spanned all 5 buildings.
Dalton School

Job Description:
Roof expansion of an existing 14 story private school on the upper east side of Manhattan. Job phased into summer of 2017 & 2018 work due to occupancy of school. H&L had a testing schedule to complete the installation of (3) new floors, totaling 14,000 SQFT, over the summer months of 2017, but successfully completed on time before the return of the new school year. Summer of 2017 phase consisted of installing 196 Tons of structural steel.
H&L returned in the summer of 2018 to complete a further 68 Tons of structural steel to the interior floors and the completion of a miscellaneous package which includes two egress stairs, relieving angle support steel around the perimeter of the building on numerous floors and various miscellaneous steel items throughout the building.
Moise Safra Community Centre

Job Description:
H&L hired to take over the erection of floors 5 through 14 of this steel super structure after previous steel contractor failed to meet the erection schedule. Job consisted of installing 500 Tons of structural steel. H&L also took over the miscellaneous package which included (2) egress stairs running from cellar to roof (15 stories), dunnage, window washing davit rigs and various miscellaneous steel items throughout the building.
Peleton HQ

Job Description:
Installed new structural steel to create a stair opening for a new 14ft wide steel bleacher stair with powder coated stair railings. Installed railings along top of stair opening also.
Designed and installed a custom made 10 ft diameter spiral stair and railings.
Stephen Gaynor School

Job Description:
First Phase added 1 story to existing school to include, new classrooms, indoor gym. Job consisted of custom fabricated steel trusses and full span kinked and welded beams to provide open space for gym below. Installed reinforcing steel throughout the existing structure. Miscellaneous package included new stairs, cooling tower dunnages, roof railings, elevator framing.
Phase 2: Involved adding new 1st floor, mezzanine and theater at the schools cellar. Job included design engineering and temporary shoring works for a 25ft x 25ft opening to adjoin the school to the neighboring structure. New stairs, railings were also installed.
ST. LUKE’S SCHOOL

Job Description:
Two-Story building extension to an existing private school in the lower Westside of Manhattan. Job consisted of installing 500 Tons of structural steel over 20,000 SQFT balanced on only (8) new W14x730 columns. Miscellaneous package included (2) egress stairs, roof railing and various miscellaneous steel items throughout the building.
Opened its new two-story addition in September of 2017 with nine classrooms, a renovated auditorium and one of the largest middle school gyms in New York City.
